Cabin #6 – “Wapashuwi”

Ritchie was a awesome host. During our stay at his cozy cabin there was a very strong wind storm. The pilot light for the heater was blown out twice and he responded to my text within minutes and relit it. A little while later the storm took out the power and Ritchie came down to the cabin within minutes with candles and matches. (The heater wasn't effected.) If we ever need a place to stay in the area we will definitely stay at Ritchie's cabins again

intransigeance sur les départs tardifs nous sommes partis à 11h00 en étant arrivé à 22h00 et nous avons payé 25 $ d'amende car nous ne sommes pas parti à 10h00 ....mais cela reste très raisonnable de prix et surtout l'emplacement est très agréable au bord du lac c'est magnifique

Ritchie was very helpful with our last minute booking at one of his cabins. The space was quaint and exactly what we were looking for. We had an issue with the heat and he came right over immediately and helped us to get it back on quickly. He was very nice and easy to chat with, and recommended the perfect dive bar down the street. We would stay again. Thanks, Ritchie!

Ritchie was a great host and made our traveling plans so much easier. This small cabin was a hidden gem and I will definitely be coming back to stay!

It’s comfortable stay for 4 people. At max 5 people. It cannot be for 6 people but wrongly mentioned as 6. This is the thing we did not feel comfortable

Richies place was just what we were looking for, a relaxing get-a-way/ski trip. The cabin was simple and cozy, directly on carp lake. Beautiful view, bar/restraunt and nice little market store in walking distance. We spent a day skiing at The Highlands which was only a 25 min drive away. Overall a great little trip and we cant wait to visit in the summer!

we stayed in the winer and it was very peaceful and shoveled for easy access. nice hub for Mackinaw City and Petoskey

Extremely great place to stay in! Our original plan is to go to the Mackinaw Island but decided to spend the two nights in this cozy cabin! Will do it again definitely.

This is our first time staying at Ritchie's cabins and our stay was comfortable. The view of the lake is amazing.

Sweet little spot. Cabins by the lake. Rustic and simple. Nice place to spend the night. Convenient off the highway for our one night. Seems like a nice little neighborhood if you spend some time. Ritchie was friendly and lives right there if you need him.

Host met us upon arrival as stated. Cabin was as described. Our dog was able to join! The view out the back of the cabin was gorgeous! We arrived in the dark, the stars and moon lit up the lake! We awoke before the sun, the sunrise was beautiful! We met friendly cabin neighbors in the am. Alought we only spent 3 awake hours there, that veiw was worth it.

What a wonderful place to relax and visit with family. Cabin was accurately described and outweighed our expectations. Just what we were looking for. Just a short drive to Mackinaw City. Ritchie was a wonderful host.

We have enjoyed staying at Ritchie's place. The views were fabulous.

We had a wonderful stay at our cabin! We were pleasantly surprised by the hosts communication due to us missing a flight and having a late arrival. Ritchie was friendly and great! You can see the sunrise from your window of the bedroom, how beautiful! We had a very fun time around the campfire. There is 3 docks on site, what a great spot to sit and view the moon!

We were looking for a spot to stay to easily visit Mackinac Island and the cabin was perfect! It was only a 10 minute drive to Mackinaw city to catch the ferry but also a quick walk to a few restaurants and stores for anything you need. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire and playing in the lake, both of which are right outside the back door. We will be back!

Had a great stay!

Richie was great at communicating, he was a great host. The cabins could use a bit of a face lift, but all in all didn’t lack anything. The beds where comfortable enough. There was wifi, tv, heating. We did not use the kitchen but it looked well equipped. Bathroom area was small, especially the shower so if you are tall or bigger I could foresee this being a problem. All in all, it’s super close to Mackinac city and good for the price!

Perfect getaway spot!

Had a lovely stay at this quaint cabin on the lake mid-winter. Very peaceful and quiet and just as I imagined it would be. Ritchie is a kind and responsive host! I’d stay here again

Ritchie’s place was exactly as described. It had all of the comforts we were looking for. The sunrises and fireplace were my favorite.

Had an awesome time out at Ritchie's cabins! Our only complaint is that we couldn't stick around the enjoy it we more. Beautiful views of the lake, and a nice cozy sitting area to have a campfire. What more could you want from a getaway to the cabin!

Great rusted place. Beds comfortable, fire stove toasted up the chilly cabin quickly, kitchen had enough to make things a rustic home in the cabin on a lake feel! What a find!

Great little cottage tucked away on Carp Lake.

Super cute little cabin. The location was very convenient-super close to Mackinaw City. We stopped just for one night while we made our way to the U.P. There’s not a lot of yard but it’s right on the lake and our cabin had a cute little screened in porch off back to view the lake. Bud Ritchie was right on site and was quick to answer any questions we had.

The place reminds me of being back in camp. The log house is very pretty. However the view of the lake is absolutely amazing and makes the place so great.

Ritchie was helpful, even when he wasn’t around, he made it easy to get in touch, and help us out where we needed it. The cabin was very cozy and was exactly as stated in the listing. It’s also very close to many things worth checking out, only a 10 minute drive up to Mackinaw City, and it sits mere feet from a gorgeous lake.

I would certainly recommend staying here, it’s well worth it!

Cute cabin close to mackinaw city. May is still early season as it was cold outside. Ritchie responds quickly to messages and accommodate the needs.

Ritchie was super great at communication and what was expected. We used the fire pit to cook both of our dinners and used the pots and pans supplied to make breakfast. The floors have sinced been taken out in the pictures it shows different furniture and flooring. Also beds and tables are on wheels(which makes sense for cleaning) if you move a lot in your sleep it’s hard to get comfortable. Something to also note is that this is a real cabin and I would make sure you bring everything supplies on Ritchie’s list.

Old style cabin with a true feel of simplicity and minimalism. Although the weather was rainy and messy, this cabin offer a great location for the warmer months or any other time that rain won’t be in the forecast! Loved it!

This cabin was everything we could of wanted. It was extremely clean when we checked in. Ritchie met us when we checked in and made sure everything was ready. We will be booking again.

The tranquility surrounding Carp Lake is in stark contrast to the city life. It's SO quiet. Matching the atmosphere in this remote part of Michigan is the simplicity of the cabin. It doesn't seem to have changed from the time it was built, but there is a beauty all its own because of it. We had a great stay here.

Great place to stay - reflects the charm of when they were built. The area is very quiet but easy access to anything you need. The best part of the cabin is sitting on the back porch and simply enjoying the lake. Highly recommend it.

If you want a camping experience then the place is fine. Cabin needs some work done on it and has some rodent issues.

The cabin is located on a beautiful lake and is a prime location for visiting Mackinaw and the UP. Ritchie was very responsive and accommodating. The cabin had a nice rustic feel and had everything we needed for our stay.

This is such an amazing place for families. Our family will always come back here.

Ritchie is a great Host, The place is Super Awesome for a weekend getaway, quite and calm. He was there to greet us although we were a little late in the night. Very close to Mackinaw and Headland Dark Sky park.

If you’re looking for a rustic cabin with a good view and on the water, then this is a great place to visit. The lake was just a few feet from the cabin. The water was shallow which was nice for the kids to play in.

This place is great! The view of the lake is amazing and the cabin is a great place to come back to from going around upper Michigan.

Host was pleasant and accommodating. Cottages are on a beautiful lake and it was very peaceful. I imagine in the summer months when you can do activities it is a blast.

I loved being so close to the lake and the gas fireplace was so cozy in the rain/snow. It was nice and clean inside and I appreciated the contact-less check-in and check-out. Richie is very accommodating and responsive to any questions.

This is a rustic but comfortable cabin. Nice, open living room and kitchen. Small bath, but the shower worked well, and great hot water. This would suit 4 adults well, or 2 adults and 3 children. Lovely place, literally steps from Carp Lake. Great value for the price.

We had a lovely stay. The cabin was rustic, no frills, not fancy at all. It was exactly what we were looking for at a very affordable price. Ritchie was a welcoming host who responded immediately to the one minor problem we had. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful lake side views, a super cool automatic fire furnace, and nice amenities. We loved our stay! We traveled into the UP, Mackinaw, etc and it was the perfect base camp.

Wonderful stay at the cabin! Beautiful views of carp lake! Walking distance to a local hometown bar with wonderful food! We stayed in March and our cabin was clean and toasty warm.

Very close to the lake! The cabin is pretty bare but offers the basics. Another review said the cabin was cold but I found that the fireplace heater really kept the place warm! Almost too warm.

Awesome location. Close to everything Mackinaw City has to offer whole having the enjoyment of bonfires and outdoor activities. Owner is super nice and available to help with anything any time. This was our second visit and it won’t be the last.

Absolutely loved the cabins! Backyard right on lake. Owner is very nice. Fire pit/ grills in backyard. Everything thing you need for a camping experience without the tent!

Cabins are rustic. The owner was very kind and helpful. Our kids loved fishing and caught perch, sunfish, bass and walleye.

Sheets were provided and a blanket. Cabin included some basic cooking items which was nice.
